Our final panelist for our discussion on data in combatting racial discrimination is – Nicole Jacqueline Obovo Valentin Emore Frederiksen

Nicole specializes in Strategic Communication and Digital Media (Cand.Comm.). She is the Founder and web manager at OBOVO Websites as well as a Board member at Afro Danish Collective.

Since 2016 Nicole has been working with Black activism and community work. In addition to being outspoken through her contribution to the debate about Denmark’s colonial past, she has helped run the first Black Owned Business and Entrepreneurship conference in Copenhagen (2019) focusing on Black-Owned Businesses and entrepreneurship among people of African descent in Scandinavia. She has also served as former vice chairperson of the African Empowerment Center (2017-18) and is now a board member and former chairperson of Afro-Danish Collective (2020-2021).
She has a “Black people first-approach” to the way she does activism and community work, and works purposefully with projects focusing on how people of African descent can come together to define and work towards a common vision and mission as a people.
